Sleep to win

More fodder for the keep-it-steady camp: this story from the Portland Oregonian online about the Portland Trail Blazers' new winning strategy. This sleep doctor is onto something, I say.

Recent research on songbirds documents how they consolidate new information during sleep. People have long theorized that people do the same thing, but this experiment helps put it on record. I have long wondered how those birds remember so many notes.

Pretty coolio stuff.

Resolve

My A-number-one resolution is to get better sleep. More of it, of course. And better quality: you know, the deep kind, the stuff that makes your brain sharp and your muscles strong. It's a big project, because there are so so so many people and things (Scramble games, I'm talking to you) jumping in the way.

But, I ain't gonna let 'em. Just think how smart and fit I'm going to be, the new, improved well-rested LAT! Look out, world.
